Emotional Wellbeing Team
This is an extended team of five staff, with a designated team member attached to each year group. The team plays a central role in maintaining the smooth operation of the Behaviour for Learning Framework and in reducing barriers to student achievement, engagement and well-being.
Staff work proactively with families, individual pupils and small groups who are receiving support at Levels 2 and 3 of the Lancashire Continuum of Need. Interventions include targeted mentoring, coordinated support with our in-house Wellbeing Mentor, and structured multi-agency involvement where needed.
We also work closely with external partners: Burnley Football Club deliver weekly in-school interventions, providing specialist input for identified pupils, and the team liaises with wider agencies, including Lancashire Mind, to ensure pupils receive timely, holistic support that addresses both safeguarding and contextual needs.
Attendance Team
Our attendance team plays a vital role in promoting good attendance and punctuality among students. The Attendance team works closely with teachers, parents, and pastoral staff to monitor attendance patterns, identify concerns early, and implement strategies to support students who may be struggling to attend regularly. Their responsibilities often include tracking daily attendance, conducting follow-up calls or meetings, and ensuring compliance with school policies and legal requirements. By fostering a positive school culture and addressing barriers to attendance, our team can help improve student engagement and academic success.
